- drumSTRONG is a truly unique, multicultural, family oriented, musical charity event to raise funds for cancer awareness, education, support and research. The Guinness World Record organization acknowledges that we will participate in the planet’s largest, longest continuous rhythm “Drum-A-Thon” ever held. Acres of grasslands at MISTY MEADOWS FARM near Charlotte, NC will echo with the beat and rhythm of hundreds of drummers (and other musicians); novice, local professionals and celebrity artists. The event, held in a “health fair” environment, will provide an audience for various cancer organizations to convey their missions and methods in hopes of inspiring a more hands on community dedicated to fighting cancer.
Educating youth to the causes, early detection and affects of cancer is the primary mission of drumSTRONG. Drumming is the modus operandi. You don’t have to have rhythm to participate, just a heartbeat.

..specifically, when 12 year old Matthew R. found me after Arthur had finally jump-stopped 25 hours of nonstop rhythm.
He had just that week prior been untethered from his chemo port. He played with us most of the day Sunday. We locked eyes (for several minutes). I'm looking into the soul of a very wise, knowing, compassionate and appreciative young man. He broke our gaze with a smile and a wink. I simply lost it .. His smile (and my tears) were confirmation.
