Type of drumcircles you are involved in:
Mostly work in Schools, at festivals and Mela's doing drum circle and percussion work, plus evening class's and workshops in African Style Drumming, drum circles, with a bit of singing and clapping thrown in for good measure.
Your most fantastic drumcircle experience to date.
I did a whole 4 weeks of drum circle workshops last summer leading upto a performance at the 'lark in the park' in clayton le moors. I had over 170 children running through the workshops daily, but a core of about 8 kids kept coming back. on the day of the 'festival' it didn't stop raining, in fact it rained so hard the event was cancelled. the only kids who made the effort to get there were the ones who had drummed every day - so we gathered all the staff into the biggest marquee, and they did the performance of a life time - we then handed out percussion to all the staff and had another jam with eeryone laughing and smiling and playing along - the entire thing lasted 30 minutes, then the marquees had to come down. I was so happy the kids had put so much into it, and got so much out of it!

I loved your story about the 4 week drum circle. What an amazing feat to have 170 kids experience drumming everyday with you - the energy you must have is truly remarkable. Thrilled that your core 8 got to perform in splendour - such a magical experience to see and hear kids so focused and energised. I also work with the gift of drumming in my secondary school. Off to the Tribe of Doris tomorrow to enhance my playing and teaching skills.
