hi faith
ouch! i know what that feels like... what a drag for that little one. yes there are gloves. kalani has endorsed or designed them.. check out his site http://kalanimusic.com/purchase.html also there are special sticks that are kind of spatula-like, hand tones. although if i got some make sure they do have the foam padding on them - if not, they are very loud!

this gets kind of personal... but i grew up with eczema, and i realized as an adult that it's because i was allergic to milk and wheat/gluten. i had a young girl and her mom in one of my camp circles. this girl was absolutely miserable with it - and it was super hot and muggy, so she just looked terrible. i stuck my neck out there and asked if they had explored the allergy thing, especially milk and bread (staples!) and told her my story. have no idea if she even took that in, but maybe i planted a seed...? you can't believe what bread will do to you!
let me know if you have more questions!

Thanks for that Phil. My internet is playing up and I can only access my e mails sporadically, so I am not ignoring people - all comments gratefully received.

Hi Faith

Go For It !!!

glad you like the text. I used to use a variety of non-sensical sentences for fanga before that one popped into my head.

If you want to add a bell part
easier is "i can shake the tree" over and over - I also change the words to I, can play, the bell - becaus ethat rhythm is used in many many many african pieces.

or the other bell part on agogo is
"lower, lower, lower, higher"

each rhythm being "play 2 semiquavers, rest 2 semiquavers."

I also have a shaker part as straight quavers...
"shaker, shaker, we play shaker"

would love to know how you get on with it in your group.

kind regards

Hello Faith, I would be happy to talk to you about the project. It works on so many levels and I'm seeing more and more positive results every day. Drumming is good, basic communicating and gathering drums to a cause is simply solid.
Best, Scott
