Hello to you reading this.
My name is Mark and my alter-ego is Third Wheel. Third Wheel offers support services to people, ideas, things, art, etc. A large part of my time is spent mentoring or tutoring at risk youth in the Orlando area. Something I'm thankful to provide for them is introductions to the spirit of the drums and drumming. I believe that to overcome our demons, we need models of positive repetitive behaviors. There is something very true to that saying about idle hands. I'd to add to that something about idle minds and idle bodies. Music, books, art, and good works are the institutions of fulfilling god's one true demand: the happiness of mankind.
I do what I can to provide a large number of intangible support to my friends in exchange for the same. I've been told by a wise man who wears the spiritual glasses that my sucess in life comes from what others see in me and in how I can serve them. In accordance, I split up my "free time" drum facilitating Orlando's chapter of Public Urban Ritual Experient (http://www.go-puredance.com/), working off and on with one of the most unique movie theater experiences in the world through a nonprofit organization called the Enzian (http://www.enzian.org), doing freelance industry work with a local genius, hardhead, and prop-master by the name of Marty Rich (http://www.martyrich.com), assisting a good friend and very talented local photographer Erica Matyas (http://www.photohound.biz), attending services and providing percussion on Thursdays at the Spiritual Knowledge Institute (http://www.spiritualknowledgeinstitute.org), collaborating with a local non-profit modern dance group (http://www.vocidance.org), doing drum tuning and repairs as they come my way, and most recently offering up what time and services I can to assist in Jason Isla's transition from a day job to a dream job via Giving World Percussion (http://www.givingworldpercussion.com).
I look forward to learning more about facilitating drum circles and hope to expand music, healing, and knowledge through the medium and this forum.
It's a pleasure to be here and I thank you for visiting my profile.
Mark
