Hello to you reading this.
My name is Mark and my alter-ego is Third Wheel. Third Wheel offers support services to people, ideas, things, art, etc. A large part of my time is spent mentoring or tutoring at risk youth in the Orlando area. Something I'm thankful to provide for them is introductions to the spirit of the drums and drumming. I believe that to overcome our demons, we need models of positive repetitive behaviors. There is something very true to that saying about idle hands. I…

I must admit, I am not real good at keeping blog posts up to date....so if this page does not update as frequently as it should...I apologize in advance.
Anyone have a good lead on inexpensive wooden frogs? I have a set that I need to release into the wild as they suffer from broken legs or worn out backs....kids can be harsh on this stuff.
What do you call a wooden frog with 4 broken legs? -> A wood block?
What's your answer?

I can go to photos and videos and groups and forums when I choose (and, likewise, not when I don't); but, uniquely, the mp3 starts playing as soon as I log on - I don't get the choice to listen or not.
I'm usually listening to something terribly interesting on Radio 4 when I'm online, and find the 'auto play' intrusive. Irritatingly, the 'stop' button doesn't work straight away - I have to stab at it in an irritating sort of way. Anyone found a way of not having it start unbidden?

Greg Whitt has just joined as the 50th member of the forum.
What do you like about it?
I like seeing everyones faces and picking up little threads of conversation that lead nowhere.
I like hearing the mp3's with many different flavours.
What would you like more of?
I'd like less grey ghosts and more faces
I'd like more videos.

hello World,
We have been this week to the Irving Main Library, to do a program, and Alassane, Deb and I had a wonderful time there with
J'Ann Alvarado, a friend and a kids' librarian we met in Dallas, at
Kalani's 2006 Drum Circle Music training.. J'Ann has started a little rhythm class, a 4 week series, which now, several months later has a waiting list, and we are so proud of her. Great work,J'Ann. Alassane brought

My objective in life is to provide my World Community opportunities to participate in a variety of community oriented drum circles. Drum circles are to promote education, health and well being. Most importantly an environment for everyone of all ages, cultures and especially ability to participate.
I was chosen for good reasons to struggle with major health problems so that I can relate and help people who are struggling with

I put two music samples on the playlist:
One is a good example of what happens at Music for People events, the other is a song I wrote about what happened in New Orleans with Hurricane Katrina two years ago.
The first example:
Hang Drum, Guitar, Violin and Voice - an improvised quartet from a recent Music for People event outside Philadelpia, PA, USA. Ron Kravitz on Hang, Lynn Miller on voice, Frances Miller on violin, Jim Oshinsky on guitar. The ensemble takes the first 30 seconds or so to pla…

I am fairly new to drum circle facilitation, but have been drumming for
10 years and playing music for 25. I hold drum circles for many types
of venues and help other DCF's in the area. I love helping others enjoy
the creation of music and hope to spread the community building power
of drum circles.
I am quite actively playing with multiple bands and dancers in the
Central Florida Area. I will add more drum circle mp3's to the page in
time.
I hope to see you all in action!

Over two days we ran about ten hours of drumcircle at an international
scout camp in the New Forest. At one point there were 6000 scouts on
site. We had kit for 100 and people came and went as they pleased. The
tent filled when it rained and thinned out when the sun shone. The
highlight for us was the Ghanain Scout Troupe coming and joining us.
First a couple of boys turned up and pumped up the drumming then a few
more and after half an hour we had the whole troupe plus their leaders
all drummin…

I run a regular once-a-week session for mothers with children at a nursery school in Bournemouth. It's been quite hard going to get them going, if you see what I mean - lots of false starts and never more than 5 participants. Challenging!
"Had more participants this week, including the mother and daughter pairing. The mum is in her 50s and her daughter is in her late 20s, I guess.
I followed a similar format to last week, starting off by asking about the difference between…
