Hi Sharon - the absolutely best place to stay if you are going to Nottingham is the Braeside Guest HOuse -

Martin & Lisa Grundy
113 Derby Road, Risley, Derbyshire DE72 3SS

01159 395885
www.braesideguesthouse.co.uk

It is a 5 minute car drive from Castle College, and it is also on a direct bus route. Lots of us from the original and the advanced course have stayed there - they know about us and what we are doing!

Hello there Sharon - thanks for your message! I wish you all the best on the Therapeutic Drumming course. I'm taking the Advanced Diploma now, for my sins.

I was nearly in South Somerset yesterday - attended a Community Music conference in Chantmartle! Is Blandford Forum too far for you to travel for a drum circle? I'm thinking about setting one up in that town.

Hi Sharon, Thanks for the invitation to be your friend. I was at Doris this year as well. Still recovering and fed up that the day begins at the office rather than with drumming - never mind, already dreaming of next year. Looking forward to getting to know you better. Love Annie

hi sharon, thanks for the story about the drum. i find a lot of drums from indonesia, african-style, decorated with australian-style designs... quite a global statement! i wonder what a "traditional" drum from indonesia might look like?! have fun with your drumming! hope to meet you someday, lori

hello from the other side of the pond....i clicked on the friend thing to see what happens... it automatically invited you! i was just curious about your drums and looking for more pictures... i like that blue one - does it have a story? looks like you might want to go to the UK training with the arthurian... if you can get there, do it! and say hi to john crazy and steve hill for me, oh, and barry too! all wonderful drumfolk!
be well, and good luck! Lori

yes I certainly did go!

It was fabulous and I can see that I am going to be a regular dorisette. Had the most stimulating time learning songs, dances and drum sequences - although the drumming was in some ways a smaller focus than expected. Did the women's drum circle which was fab, intermediate and simon's last jam . Heaven was meeting such lovely open, talented people.

I also danced with the Orishis, did the samba with Claudio and ventured onto the dancefloor in my white skirt at the final celebration to dance within the huge drumcircle nearer the beginning of proceedings.

A gloriouss time was had by all
