Pretty much everything that comes my way at the moment. I'm fairly recent to the DCF world, absorbing everything as I go, and bubbling with enthusiasm!! :) Wheeeee!!!
I have facilitated/been involved in circles at schools, summer camps, corporate environments and festivals.
I am very interested in connecting with fellow drummers/DCFs/music therapists/enthusiasts interested in the psychological and physiological effects of drumming, or simply just exchanging ideas and fun!
Your most fantastic drumcircle experience to date.
One of them was when facilitating drum circles at a special needs school, for children with a wide range of disabilities and developmental problems... Getting then to consistently play a rhythm and gel with it was an incredible experience. At the end of the drumming I needed to bring the children back 'down', as most of them were hyperactive so I started an interactive storytelling game working its way around the circle and then took the children through a relaxation exercise. At the end of it, ALL the children came over to give me group hugs in turns! :) Awww..... what a great way to spend a day!
